         MARIE HAS PERFORMED ON

SEVERAL PROMINENT STAGES.  

​

      Most recently, May 24, 2019 Marie gave her talent taking the stage at Manhanttan Center, Hammerstien Ball Room in New York City, in support of the "PEACE STARTS WITH ME" Concert.  The event was lanuched to fight against gun violence in our country.  Marie loves to support causes that focus on helping the youth.  She felt blessed to have her family perform her new single 'CAN'T FIND NOBODY LIKE JESUS."

     May 2018, Marie was honored when asked to be a judge in the McDonald's Gospel Fest Competition., held at the Prudential Center, in Newark New Jersey.  Featuring such artist as Hezekiah Walker, Bishop Morton, VaShawn Mitchell. etc.  

​

  • Marie performed on the BOBBY JONES TELEVISION SHOWCASE, during his 30 year celebration on the WORD NETWORK, in Nashville, TN.  

  • New Life Fellowship Church, in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Marie was invited by PASTOR JOHN P. KEE to participate in the VIP Conference New Artist Showcase. 

  • 41ST ANNUAL GOSPEL MUSIC WORKSHOP OF AMERICA IN NASHVILLE, TN.  Marie blessed the crowd and was asked to participate in other concerts.

  • SEVERAL APPEARANCES ON FOX 5 MORNING NEWS for McDonald’s PROMOTIONS. 

  • GOSPEL MAGAZINE SHOWCASE IN CHICAGO, IL and much more!

  • August 2014, Citation by Bill de Blasio, Mayor of NYC – for efforts to unite, and uplift communities by services to New Yorkers in need.

  • May 2014, Leadership Award – Marketing & Advertising - S.G.A. Bronx Community College.

  • May 2013, Citation by Michael R. Bloomberg, Mayor of New York City- for generous efforts on behalf of Mission of Hope and to New Yorkers' in needs.

  • May 2011, Proclamation by Scott M. Stringer, President:  Borough of Manhattan office; for commitment to use my time and   talents to building a stronger New York.  As a founding member of the Mission of Hope Ministry for 10 years:  Awarded for serving the community as a secretary, bookkeeper, managing the office, building web-sites, trainer, missionary reaching out to the poor, needy, feeding the hungry and using my talents entertaining communities.

  • January 2002, Disney Volunteer of the year Award:  President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation -White House.

  • 2001, THE BERNICE COLE LEGEND AWARD from the American GOSPEL Quartet convention in NY CHAPTER, "Rise and Live" Project.

   Marie's Bio

​

Marie Della Thomas - one of New York’s finest gospel singers and producer! Marie is a singer, songwriter, producer, and business women. Marie is a graduate of LaGuardia High School of Music & Arts in New York City.  As a classically trained vocalist, Marie a vocal music major,  enjoyed her studies in opera in her youth.  Marie is a graduate of Bronx Community college where she earned her A.A.S. degree in Marketing Management, and is also a graduate of Bernard Baruch College earning a B.A. in Business-Corporate Communication. She continued on to  Baruch College Master's program at Weissman School of Arts and Science. 

 

Marie enjoyed being the worship and praise leader at her home church for close to twenty years.  Marie developed a love for the traditional hymn.  Radio announcers in Harlem, NYC has given her the title of a passionate hymnologist. 

 

Marie has sung backup for some of Gospel's Greats such as: Tramaine Hawkins, Cissy Houston, Melba Moore etc. She is an original member of the McDonald's Gospel Choir which was founded by Director A. Curtis Farrow.  After the production of her debut album, Marie partnered with engineer Karl Marrett to produce several artist for Stile Records company helping to launch artist internationally. 

 

As the Director of Music for her home church, The Mission of Hope Ministries in Harlem, Marie and her husband started the Annual MOH Gospel Music Extravaganza.  GME present talents from across the tri-state area raising funds to facilitate the work of MOH Evangelistic Missionary Ministries.   As a result, she is now the founder of the Della Music Group, where she has produces benefits for several churches.

In 2000, Marie won over the audience at NYC Town Hall, in her role as Mahalia Jackson in the musical The History of Gospel.  Marie Della Thomas love for the stage, and jazz music was displayed in the off broadway production of The Cotton Club at NJPAC, and Brooklyn Performing Artist Center.  She received rave reviews for her performance in her lead role of Mary in the revival of the musical Your Arms Too Short To Box With God held at the Ritz Theater in Jacksonville, FL, and at the CoMMa Morganton Auditorium in Morganton, NC -  an Irving Street Rep Production. 

 

In 2001, Marie released her debut album Rise and Live.  Her ministry has taken her across the country, blessing audiences with her unique gospel sound.  Following the release of her debut album, Marie was given the prestigious Bernice Cole award by the New York Regional Chapter of American Gospel Quarter Convention.  Currently, her new singles, Can't Find Nobody Like Jesus, and Good Time are played in rotation on several radio stations across the country.  Marie was invited to performed on the Bobby Jones Gospel Television Showcase during his 30 year celebration aired on the WORD NETWORK, in Nashville, TN.  

 

Marie's ultimate goal is to spread the message of love through her music.  She has often been called to perform for political figures. Marie was asked to tour churches in Far Rockaway with Mark Green, NYC Public Advocate, prior to his running for Mayor of New York City.  Marie has been invited several times to  sing at the Rev. Al Sharpton National Action Network (NAN) aired on WLIB 1190 AM radio.  Marie believes in giving back to society and helping those in need.  Marie believes it's God's work, stating "I want to do my part to help our community so I sing." 

 

Marie participated in the VIP Conference - New Artist Showcase held in Charlotte, NC, hosted by Pastor John P. Kee. She performed in The Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) new artist showcase in Nashville, TN. Following her performance, Marie was asked to perform in GMWA night musical.  Marie is excited to share with the world her new album, self-titled MARIE, which will be released in December 2019. 

 

Marie wants the world to know about Jesus Christ through her music.  It's all about Jesus and his love for us all!
