MARIE DELLA THOMAS, GOSPEL RECORDING ARTIST/PRODUCER/ACTRESS - BIO

Marie Della Thomas, born in Anderson SC, the youngest of six children. Raised in NYC Marie at the young age of two sang in her family's group. The Stowers Family. Marie is a graduate of LaGuardia HS of Music and Arts/Vocal Major. Marie is an original member/director of the NYC McDonald's Gospel choir. Marie has sung backup for some of Gospel Greats such as: Tramaine Hawkins, Cissy Houston, Melba Moore, etc. Marie has often been called to perform for political figures. Marie toured with Mark Green (NYC Public Advocate) prior to his running for Mayor of NYC.

2001, Marie released her debut album "Rise and Live." Her ministry has taking her across the country blessing audience with her unique gospel sound. 2009, Marie launched the DELLA Music group and has since produced several artist. Today, Marie is one of New York's most sought-after producers. Marie is currently working on her 2nd album self-titled Marie Della Thomas. The album will be completed Spring 2010 featuring the single Can't find Nobody like Jesus", and "Special Gift." Marie won the audience in NYC Town Hall in her role as Mahalia Jackson in the musical "The History of Gospel." Her love for jazz was displayed in "The Cotton Club" at NJPAC and Brooklyn Performing Artist Center. Marie received rave reviews for her performance in her lead role (as Mary) in the revival of the musically "Your Arms Too Short To Box With God held at the Ritz Theater in Jacksonville, FL, and at the CoMMa Morganton Auditorium in Morganton, NC an Irving Street Production. Marie and her husband Robert Thomas are the Directors of music for the Mission of Hope Ministry in NYC.
